The Modus operandi

Anxiety results in obsessive worry and nervousness of the repetition of a past event or some imminent thing like a panic disorder. Anxiety and depression progress together because obsessive worry and excess of it keeps a person in an increased state of arousal that results in depression in its severity. Depression is characterized by a loss of interest in hobbies and activities.

Hence it is absolutely clear that anxiety and depression are inter related to the extent of one leading to the other. It is impossible to enjoy life, relationships, hobbies or activities when you are always worried, nervous and anxious. To say it crudely a bluntly, anxiety simply sucks the joy right out of life and depression means a joyless and futile life.

Anxiety and depression therapy

The inter linking of anxiety and depression happens because they are both baseless thoughts unrelated to reality. They often go out of control and can be treated with the same medications that calm discomforting and obsessive thoughts. They can be controlled through psychotherapy or through a psychiatrist. Many types of anxiety and depression are the result of physical abnormalities like chemical or hormonal imbalance. But if one does not choose medicines, he can learn how to control thoughts and substitute them with new thoughts.

At times, by just knowing that you have an anxiety attack or a bout of clinical depression, you can cope with their debilitating effect. It is also helpful to know that you are not the only sufferer and that many are sailing in the same boat. Consult the health care professional for your anxiety and depression problems. Help is available for the mere asking. Though you may not be cured completely you can cope with the situation and not let it come in the way of your day to day existence.
