In a TV programme that I saw, a study was conducted on the lives of people
who lived long lives. Interviews were conducted with people more than
hundred years old. One particular thing was common to all of them.
All of them knew how to manage stress and anxiety and did not allow these
things to affect their lives as much as other lives. Apart from right
diet and exercise, their mental factors involving stress and anxiety were
strikingly clear and similar.
What is this anxiety? It is defined as a kind fear or apprehension in
anticipation of a real or imagined situation or threat. Then we begin
to wonder why people have panic attacks in the absence of real or imaginary
or immediate danger.
The real reason is that the underlying stress in your subconscious mind
triggers the symptoms of panic attack. The mind will not be aware of high
anxiety while the body is well aware f higher levels of stress.
Fight or flight response is another reason for people to undergo panic
attack. Anxiety or stress is the motivator for our body springing in to
action. The body thus protects itself from danger naturally. Panic attacks
engender, these type of emotions or reactions. Anxiety is believed to
do great harm through panic attack compared to the bodys attempt
to save you from danger.
The fight/flight theory depends on having a real panic attack when the
danger is real. But it does not answer the question why people, even under
low stress, become victims of panic attacks.
