There are different forms of social anxiety like a person standing in a line feeling that he is being observed by many people though it is not true. The individual cannot shake off such feelings. Another example is that of a person, seated by the telephone and terribly afraid of lifting the phone and making a call. Such incidents or cases illustrate social anxieties.

Social anxiety is the result of a fear in speaking in public or at formal or informal gatherings or eating or writing in front of others. In its severest form it encompasses underlying forcing the patient to experience the symptoms permanently and always still the social anxiety patient can be hopeful as there are plenty of therapies, medications, or mixtures of both used in their treatment. Cognitive behavior therapy is considered as a boon and an effective tool for social phobias according to researchers.
