According to psychiatrists, teenagers and even those younger to them suffer from fully blown anxiety disorders. Most common among them are the panic attacks and social anxiety disorders that attack any one at any time.

The cause can be a hormonal and chemical imbalance in the brain, unrelated to any situation or circumstance. You should not mistake that there is some root cause for the attack like an upcoming test, or problems with other children. The doctor alone can decide if it is an anxiety attack or just, a, nervousness.

A mere assurance or a simple talk will not be enough to pacify the child when under an anxiety attack. Medications as well as some behavioral or, cognitive therapy, is absolutely essential. It is best if the therapy is given by a professional expert. A doctor can always give tips to the parents of the child. At no time should a parent think that he can, by himself, independently manage the child without inputs from the doctor.
